7-26-18 Central Plains Forecast: Stormy pattern targets the western Plains…rains expand east through the weekend. N.

Today’s forecast across the area….Iowa is the best spot to be in over the next couple of days with dry and pleasant weather, showers and storm chances focused to the south and west locations today.  

On Friday, the focus for showers and storms will be across the western Plains, while much of Missouri and Iowa see a dry day Friday.  The ingredients are there for severe storm potential and a severe cluster of storms may sweep across western Nebraska and Kansas Friday evening with a swath of wind and hail.  Here is where I think this may take place…

As an upper-level low continues to dig across the eastern Plain early next week, rain chances will continue and actually be higher for areas across Missouri Monday-Wednesday of next week while areas further west and north see a drying trend.  Forecast radar from 7am Monday to 1pm Wednesday CDT shown below:
