Today’s video:
Observed rainfall totals over the past 24 hours:
Area we feel at a greater risks for scattered strong to severe storms tonight across the far eastern Dakotas but more-so central to north-central Minnesota…the main risks being strong winds and hail…an isolated tornado cannot be fully ruled out. *Not everyone in the circled area will get storms tonight, but it’s the area with the best chance.*
Total precipitation guidance here in the short-term…where we see scattered storm coverage in the far eastern Dakotas we can see generally 0.25-0.75″…but a few areas seeing up to 1.0-1.5″ cannot be fully ruled out where strong storms develop. The rain this map shows in NW North Dakota has already be observed.
Quiet weather is expected area-wide overall the 2nd half of Friday into Saturday…we are watching the risk for a strong cluster along the ND/SD border into central Minnesota Saturday night into Sunday that can bring both the risks for isolated strong storms and the risks for another ~0.5-1.0″:
