7-25-19 Iowa/Nebraska/Kansas/Missouri: Light showers for some today….discussing pattern evolution through next week. N.

Video:

Rain departure in inches for July so far: In general, Nebraska has been really wet, while there has been a drier area from Kansas to southern/eastern Iowa and northern Missouri running a bit behind from normal on rain this month.

After a dry past few days., there are light showers moving through parts of the region today.  Nothing heavy or strong is expected.  Forecast rainfall through tonight:

Here’s the forecast rainfall from Friday to Saturday AM…..it does appear there will actually be more sunshine Friday which will allow temperatures to soar.  We’ll see some pop-up storms over west-central Nebraska Friday night….but a lot of the region will be dry.

Wind forecast over the next 4 days:

A front will pass through the area Sunday and Monday…but nature of rain is very scattered and more likely in Iowa/Missouri.  This will not bring anything substantial for most locations.

Cluster of storms in Iowa next Tuesday-Wednesday?  Data honing in on one, but differences in placement at this distance.  I have posted a comparison of 2 global models below.  We’ll just mention the potential at this distance and fine-tune over the coming days.
