Today’s Video:
Good Wednesday morning everyone! A weakening cluster of showers and storms continues to push through Minnesota this morning. We are expecting this cluster to continue to fizzle out as we approach mid-day.
Some scattered showers with a short-wave of energy possible in Eastern North Dakota and the Northern half of Minnesota throughout the day today, but the main storm chance will develop in the late afternoon/early evening hours in far SE SD and Southern Minnesota:
These storms develop between 4-6PM and quickly push to the SE and likely exit the area shortly after sunset. Here’s a look at total rainfall over the next 24 hours:
Overnight, a few scattered showers/storm could develop in SW South Dakota and that risk will continue into tomorrow. The primary risk for Minnesota tomorrow will be some scattered light showers/drizzle associated with moisture from the upper-level low.
Better rain chances for SW South Dakota will develop on Friday even extending into Central South Dakota at times. Energy will slowly push east and rain chances will continue until Saturday night.
Most of North Dakota and Minnesota like stay dry with just the SW portion of Minnesota being clipped. Other than that system, the next 7 days are looking quite dry across most of the area, with most of the rain in North Dakota and Central Minnesota having already occurred from last night/this morning:
The bigger story will be the cool temperatures. Some areas won’t get out of the 60s for highs tomorrow with overnight lows likely dipping into the 40s in some spots:
