Good Monday evening everyone! This will be a brief update regarding shower/storm chances for the state this evening into tomorrow morning. There is an isolated area of showers and storms slowly pushing southward across far western KS as of 3:30pm MDT. I expect this small area of convection to continue working south and remaining over far western KS over the next several hours before we work in more shower and storm activity from eastern CO late this evening. Strong storms have already fired in Central CO and will dive southeast through the remainder of the afternoon and evening hours. It won’t be until after 9pm MDT this evening that the remnants of these storms push into far western KS. By this point they are unlikely to be severe, though I can’t rule out some small hail and gusty winds in the areas impacted. A few light showers are also possible in northeast KS along a weakened cold front this evening before completely dissipating by 11pm MDT. Storms over southwest KS will likely continue to weaken overnight with only isolated showers and storms possibly remaining in western KS by 6am MDT Tuesday morning. Any remaining morning convection should cease by 12pm MDT. Here’s a brief rundown of what to expect regarding rainfall:
