Good Monday evening! This will be a quick update regarding tonight’s severe weather threat. A couple of showers and storms have developed across southwest ND. Over the course of the next few hours I expect more storms to fire across southern ND, west-central MN, and eastern SD where the storms will have a damaging wind, large hail, and isolated tornado threat. During the late evening into the overnight these areas of showers and storms will push east-northeast across central MN. Further west more energy will be working into the western Dakotas with additional storms popping late tonight into the early morning hours. These storms will track east-northeast across ND and northern SD persisting into the morning hours Tuesday, possibly affecting far northwestern MN. Large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado are once again possible with these storms. Rainfall amounts through tomorrow morning will vary between 0.25-0.75″ with locally higher amounts across southern ND, northeast SD, and central MN.
