Overall, a nice start to the day today across the area, but temperatures will be rising up into the 90s as we push into the afternoon allowing some instability to build across the region. I believe that especially after 2PM we are going to have to watch for an increasing shower/storm coverage across Central Indiana with the storm threat continuing until around ~6-7 PM EDT mainly east of the area.
Simulated Radar for Today:
I think that past 5-6 PM tonight we could start to see more scattered showers pushing northward into the overnight. I do think there are favorable conditions for a wave of some rain showers tomorrow morning – perhaps in a broken nature – between 4AM and 10 AM tomorrow morning before we see a greater risks of rain and storms beginning 4PM tomorrow and continuing into 11PM. Showers and and a few storms will likely continue into the overnight Tuesday in a more on/off nature and into Wednesday morning before pushing east.
Rainfall totals will generally range from 0.5 – 1.25″ but do not be surprised to see localized totals of 1.5 – 2″+ and given the sporadic nature at times there will be localized areas that miss out and see less.
I also wanted to briefly mention that we likely have sustained winds tomorrow of 10+ MPH and gusts at times up to 30 MPH related to the remnants of Hurricane Barry.
