Today’s Video:
Good Wednesday morning everyone, storms in NE Minnesota will continue to push off to the east and out of the state by the early afternoon hours:
We do have heat advisories in effect for today for much of Eastern SD and Western MN for temperatures in the upper 90s-100. We then turn our attention to severe weather chances in Northern Minnesota as thunderstorms develop between 5-7 PM this evening. Before these congeal into a line, we could see a few supercell thunderstorms which could produce a few tornadoes and large hail. Eventually the main threat becomes damaging wind as the line dives into Central Minnesota:
Very heavy rain likely also falls with these storms in Eastern Minnesota:
Additional showers likely develop along the front in South Dakota and Southern Minnesota overnight and into tomorrow:
Storm re-development likely occurs in SE SD and Southern Minnesota late tomorrow and could produce a few storms with strong to damaging wind gusts. This front lingers in the area into Saturday and leads to multiple days of rain chances for SE SD and Southern Minnesota.
This front finally pushes south later Saturday and temperatures warm back up before an additional front brings more rain and cooler risks Sunday into Monday. Here’s a look at total rain over the next 7 days:
