Observed rainfall over the past 24 hours…with very heavy rainfall noted especially across NW ND:
Storm reports over the past 24 hours…a few tornado and damaging wind reports near the ND/SD and MN border:
Latest simulated radar guidance keeps some pesky light showers on and off around Minnesota today (mainly Fergus Falls to Worthington, Grand Rapids to Minneapolis) through sunset before weakening (losing daytime heating)…North and South Dakota today largely stay completely dry with maybe a 10/20% shot of a stray light shower from Rugby to Jamestown areas this afternoon:
Totals stay generally a light 0.1-0.3″…a few areas across the northern half of MN may see up to 0.5-1.0″ but not expected to be widespread:
Wind guidance over the next 4 days is below – quite the windy day ahead for the eastern half of the Dakotas and western Minnesota. Much lighter winds tonight. No major wind issues after today.
Rainfall potential from Friday morning into next Wednesday morning from the latest European model…areas circle in black we feel pose the risk for an additional ~0.5-1.5″ of rainfall, and areas outside of the circle look to see 0.1-0.5″ roughly (some areas will even stay completely dry and just miss out as well):
