6-6-19 Iowa: Overall dry/nice stretch of weather through Saturday! Sunday rain chance…much cooler next week!

Today’s Video:

“Isolated” heavy showers can develop this afternoon, while many remain dry.  Drier air will work in Friday and Saturday, helping to keep us dry and quite nice!!  Here is the forecast rain today:

A cold front will work into northwest Iowa by Saturday night, then work east across the state Sunday.  Heaviest rain chance is west, then the showers become more hit/miss central and east.  We’ll turn dry and much cooler to begin next week, before rain returns Tuesday afternoon-Wednesday along with unseasonably cool temperatures.  Here is the forecast rain through Monday:

System mid next week may bring 0.25″ to locally 0.75″ to the area.  Again, nothing heavy.  There will be several more rain risks in week 2, but upcoming drier period in week 1 will help avoid any big issues.  Southern parts of the state have the best chance to skew a bit wetter than normal for week 2.
