Observed rainfall over the past 24 hours:

Overall it’s a dry and very hot forecast through the weekend.  We do have a few showers/iso storms working across east-central Kansas.  As we head into the evening we’ll see a few spotty storms in southwest Kansas.  Here is the forecast radar from 3pm CT to 3am CT Friday:

Wind forecast over the next 4 days:

Most locations will remain dry through the weekend.  Next week, storm chances will gradually increase, but Kansas locations will see more isolated coverage through mid next week, while areas further north in Nebraska can pick up locally heavier storm clusters.  Here is the forecast rainfall “idea” through mid next week.  There is potential for isolated storms that the map doesn’t pick up in Kansas, but you can get the idea that Nebraska will get the share of storm chances early-mid next week.

We still target a more active pattern area-wide for week 2 with above normal rainfall.
