This morning, storms are working into Rock Valley and Rock Rapids, with the northern parts of the state getting clipped with storm chances today, with heavier storms targeting southern Minnesota. However, it does appear the northeast portion of the state will get clipped with a cluster of storms 3-6pm, note the are circled in the top left image below. Potential for pockets of large hail and damaging wind there. As we head through the evening, we’ll see another cluster of storms develop in southern Minnesota which should dive south into the state tonight. This can also be strong to severe with strong wind and some hail. Heaviest storm risks in the north and east, extending into central areas. The far western area should miss out.

After a dry and hot Friday overall, another storm cluster chance for especially eastern and northeast areas Friday night. Much of the weekend is dry and hot. Better risks for scattered storms build starting Monday. Looking at 7-day rainfall, certainly the northern portions of the state will be wetter, while southern and southwest areas stay a lot drier! A big spread in rain numbers north to south expected. To differentiate things, here is the 5-day rainfall forecast from Saturday AM to Thursday AM:
