Video:

Observed rainfall last night: Locally very heavy amounts in eastern Nebraska, with a decent amount of rain in east-central Kansas:

Today’s severe outlook highlights parts of northern/northwest Nebraska in the best risk to see damaging wind gusts/hail this evening.

Total precipitation through Friday AM:

Wind forecast over the next 4 days: Breezy southerly wind next several days.

Overall a dry, sunny, hot stretch of weather Friday through the weekend!  As the upper ridge breaks down, storm risks gradually pick up next week.  Our weeks 1 and 2 precipitation is shown below.  Drier than normal week 1 across the region (especially Kansas).  Note we return to a more active pattern week 2….it’s closer to “normal” for Kansas while Nebraska will be more likely to receive above normal precipitation.
