Showers across eastern MN will push east and persist through the late morning and early afternoon before diminishing later this afternoon. Radar loop as of 9:30 CDT:

As we head into the evening and overnight hours we will start to build in showers and thunderstorms across the Dakotas.

Another front will push into the western Dakotas late Thursday evening into Thursday night. Ahead of the front, a couple of supercell thunderstorms could develop and produce large hail and damaging winds before a line of storms with a damaging wind and heavy rain threat will push through the rest of ND into MN Thursday night.

Total rainfall amounts through Sunday evening: Heavy rains likely across portions of ND as rounds of shower and storms affect the area over the next few days. Widespread 1-2″ of rain is possible, especially the northern 2/3 of ND into northwestern MN. Another front this weekend will bring additional rains across southern portions of the area.

Here’s a look at temperatures over the next four days: Heat will lift northward as the week progresses due to a building dome of high pressure just to the east of our area. Some areas across SD and southern MN may work in 90ºF readings Thursday and Friday with max heat indices approaching 100ºF.
