Tomorrow a nearly constant flow of energy will begin to move through the area in the very early morning hours bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms. All together these storms will bring precipitation totals of 1-2″ with locally heavier pockets of 3-4″ possible. In addition, there will be sufficient energy (low- and upper-level) for isolated severe storm activity with the primary threats being severe wind and small hail.

Currently in southern Minnesota we only need ~1.6″ in an hour to be in flash flood conditions. With this amount of energy and moisture localized heavy downpours will be dominant throughout the south and eastern portions of the state.
