Beautiful Friday morning ahead with sun and pleasant air. Changes late today! Latest timing of storms late this PM-evening brings it into Terre Haute to Vincennes by 4pm, then working southeast across Southern Indiana early evening, followed by additional showers and storms working in across west-central and Southern Indiana.
Concern continues for damaging wind as this complex works across southwest Indiana. There actually looks to be another cluster of storms in this area after midnight which can pose another damaging wind risk for southwest Indiana.
Excessive rainfall outlook tonight:
Total rain through Saturday: We think far northeast Indiana remains dry overall through Saturday, with a good part of Central Indiana at risk to see 0.50″ to 1.50″ totals through Saturday evening, but highest totals focused southwest of a Bloomington to Terre Haute line, where 2-3″+ of rain looks to fall tonight in areas like Jasper, Evansville, and Vincennes.
Additional strong to severe storm risks both days this weekend. We do favor some dry hours Saturday, with a higher risk of storms after midnight Saturday night into early Sunday, then again Sunday afternoon through Monday. Here is the rainfall forecast through early next week:
A less active pattern will take hold starting Tuesday and continue through the balance of next week. Still at least spotty daily storm risks, but not the widespread heavy rains we have seen lately. We will also see warmer temperatures well into the 80s with high humidity making it feel like 90s later next week.
Wind forecast over the next 4 days: Indiana will have very minimal wind today. Nothing too breezy through the weekend (outside of storms, of course).
