FORECAST RADAR 9AM TO 5PM CT: Severe cluster of storms moves into Quincy around 10am, then will progress east then southeast across west central and southern Illinois as we go through early to mid afternoon.  This will bring a swath of strong, damaging wind gusts.

2 more rounds tonight: After the first round of storms, renewed showers and storms will fire up over the central portion of the state early this evening, then increase in coverage/intensity developing into a cluster that drops southward late evening into past midnight, then yet another batch of storms dives into south-central Illinois pre-dawn Saturday.  Total rainfall through early Saturday will be 2-3″+ for portions of central Illinois with an elevated flood threat due to training nature of storms.  

Today’s severe storm outlook: Areas in yellow are highest threat for damaging wind gusts and hail, with an isolated tornado threat in the far western part of the state (Quincy to Madison).
