6-21-18 Northern Plains: Heavy rain starting to subside today… additional scattered rain/storms possible into the weekend. B.

Today’s Video:

Good Thursday morning everyone! We’re continuing to see rain work through portions of Southern Minnesota and SE South Dakota this morning. Some areas have picked up as much as 4″ of rain in these areas.

However, these will gradually weaken throughout the day today and diminish into the overnight hours. Some additional light rain accumulations (generally 0.1″ – 0.3″) possible:

Some lingering light showers are possible across the area tonight and tomorrow with the better chance for storms coming in the Western Dakotas late tomorrow evening. A marginal risk for severe has been issued for this area for isolated hail risks:

Woud not rule out some re-development especially over South Dakota on Saturday. Note, NAM is likely too broad with precipitation and it would more than likely come in the form of scattered showers and storms:

We’ll also need to watch a system developing late this weekend and into early next week, but for the most part not a majorly active weekend ahead. In fact, temperatures will be quite pleasant over much of the area:

Here’s a look at the dew point temperatures over the next 4 days:

Here’s a look at the wind speeds over the next 4 days:

Here’s a look at 7 day rainfall from the GFS (some of this has already fallen in SE SD and Southern Minnesota):
