Here is a look at total rainfall over the past 72 hours. The heaviest rains fell across northern portions of Nebraska due to southwest flow (storm clusters riding periphery of upper-level ridge). As much as 4″ of rain fell in this region.

Heat advisories continue across Missouri into portions of Iowa and Kansas today due to high heat indices in excess of 100ºF.
There is a threat for strong to severe thunderstorms today into tonight along a stationary boundary across eastern Nebraska into Iowa. Storms are also possible in Central Kansas (40% chance of rain) this afternoon and evening.
Watch your local video for information regarding the timing of the storms this evening as well as multiple storm chances through the week. Total rainfall forecast over the next 7 days: Many areas are likely to see 2-4″ of rain with locally higher amounts.
High temperatures over the next four days: The eastern US ridge will degrade the next couple of days and an upper level low will dig into the region providing some relief from the heat Thursday.
Low temperatures over the next four days: The stationary front hanging in the region today will transition into a cold front and bring cooler overnight lows into Kansas and Nebraska Thursday morning and Friday morning.
Dew points over the next four days: Humidity levels will remain elevated, especially across Iowa and Missouri.
