6-17-18 Kansas/Nebraska/Iowa: Strong storms possible today…flash flooding on the table as well for some. K.

First and foremost, happy Father’s Day from all of us here at BAM! Just a brief text update regarding storms today, some being strong to severe with locally heavy rainfall. Have a blessed day -Kirk

Today’s strong storm risk area…main risks are wind and hail and flash flooding but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out:

Seeing storm initiation today across central Kansas, Nebraska and NW Iowa around 1-2pm-ish local today, moving southwest to northeast slowly through ~5am local time Monday morning…the main areas of storm development will be across Nebraska and NW Iowa along a boundary…again, some of these may be strong to severe with flash flooding possible (training storm scenario):

Total rainfall guidance…a good base of 0.5-1.5″ is likely where it storms especially in Nebraska and NW Iowa…~0.25-1″ in central Kansas where it’s very spotty. However, 2-3″ and even some locally higher can be ruled out in NE and IA where we see that training of storms set up…flash flooding is possible:
