6-12-19 Kansas/ Nebraska: Nice/cool mid-week gives way to increasing storm risks late week. N.

Today’s Video:

Overview of next several days:

An isolated shower or storm is possible mainly in eastern locations today, but most stay dry with decent sunshine.  Unseasonably cool highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s.  Lows tonight back int the 40s for many.  Thursday begins a warming trend as southerly winds come back. That eventually leads to storm chances.  A few showers will work into southwest Kansas after midnight tonight into Thursday, but will be limited due to a lack of moisture.  Scattered storms develop in the western locations by the evening, and we should maintain a widely scattered storm threat Thursday night into Friday morning with a warm front lifting in.  These can bring a local heavy rain threat.  Friday this wave works east, before more storms develop during the evening across the area, and increase Friday night.  These should be more widespread than Thursday night’s chance.  This wave works out of here into Missouri by sunrise Saturday, then many dry hours before more storms develop in southeast Nebraska and across Kansas late PM-night on Saturday.  Nebraska looks largely dry Saturday.  Here is the total precipitation through the weekend:

Wind forecast guidance over the next 4 days: Breezy northwest wind today, then south winds increase late Thursday, and become gusty Thursday night through Friday.

Rainfall out to 7 days:

Pattern will be wet across the region next week, with the wet weather last through the rest of the month.
