Today is sunny and pleasant. Dry tonight. A few showers expected for parts of the area Wednesday…..with best chances in western as well as southeast Indiana. Highs 72-78º. Will mention the risk of an isolated stronger storm in southeast Indiana where more instability is present to produce a spotty wind/hail threat.
Best threat for showers will arrive overnight Wednesday through late morning Thursday. Showers will diminish by the afternoon with unseasonably cool and breezy conditions. Total rain through Thursday: Most areas only see very light totals. Best threat for higher amounts in eastern and southeast Indiana. Parts of northeast Indiana may never get out of the 50s Thursday, while southwest areas will near 70º.
We’ll clear out Thursday night, with a nice Friday coming. That all changes for the weekend as shower and storm risks return, as early as after midnight Friday night. Right now best chances seem to be late Saturday, then chances stick around many days next week, with heaviest amounts in the southern half of the area. The overnight models are very bullish on rain amounts, especially over Southern Indiana. Rain potential next 7 days:
Wind forecast over the next 4 days: Plan on a gusty day Thursday.
