Good Sunday evening everyone. A cold front is pushing east into the area and combined with an unstable environment, strong to severe storms likely develop over the next few hours. The primary threat will be hail and damaging winds with these storms. Here’s a look at the simulated radar into tomorrow morning:
Left over energy will allow for showers and storms to persist for the eastern half of the Dakotas and into Western Minnesota for much of the day tomorrow, before an additional piece of energy can bring more showers into the overnight hours Monday for the Western Dakotas:
This system could produce quite a bit of rain for much of the area given high instability and moisture content in the atmosphere.
