500 Festival Forecast – Thursday (5/18/17):

Synopsis: Good morning, below we continue to discuss the risk for thunderstorms for any outdoor events taking place outside on Saturday, with an isolated risk for a strong storm. Temperatures continue to look warm with highs getting into the lower 80s, winds are expected to be out of the southeast at 5-10mph, but we could see gusts up to 25-30mph at times. Confidence is increasing on a weather-related risk here.

Saturday: We still continue to see ~40% chance for scattered storms on Saturday given a fairly consistent flow of energy throughout the day.

Although on the lower end right now of confidence, cannot rule out an isolated strong storm threat with gusty winds and large hail.

Current thoughts on rainfall totals is, if you get under a storm we could see up to 1.0-1.5″. Given the scattered natures of the storms, not everyone gets under a storm here.

Winds will primarily be out of the southeast at 5-10 mph, gusting at times to 25-30mph.

It’ll be a pretty warm and muggy day with dew points expected to get into the upper 60s near 70º on Saturday, temperatures are expected to climb near 83º.
