5-8-19 Indiana: Overall dry and very warm today….wet Thursday…cool temps arrive for the weekend. N.

Video:

Outside of an isolated shower in northwest Indiana this morning, today is a dry and warm spring day as temperatures soar this afternoon with a warm front surging northward.  We don’t think there’s really any rain chances working in until after midnight tonight for western Indiana, with scattered shower/storm risks pre-dawn hours into Thursday morning.  Winds will pick up overnight, with a gusty storm possible west.  Rain chances really ramp up Thursday…highest time-frame 10am-2pm where heavy rainfall and gusty winds are likely to impact many areas….heavier for the southern half of the state.  Coverage by late afternoon will become more scattered again, then most areas will dry out tomorrow night.

Most areas will be in the 0.50″ to 1″ rainfall range.  There will be pockets of higher amounts over 1″.  There will be a few spots especially north that see a touch under a half-inch.
