Good morning!  Pockets of heavy rain will continue to lift north along a warm front this morning, with most locations catching a break early to mid afternoon.  Western areas will see an increasing chance for scattered storms mainly arriving after 4pm CT, with a few severe storms possible mainly for western and northwest central locations this evening.  The video dives into more details on timing and severe potential.  Forecast radar from 8am today to 3am Thursday:

A heavier surge of rain and storms will work across southern and east-central Illinois Thursday morning, then coverage diminishes through the day with many locations being mainly dry for Thursday afternoon. An isolated threat will continue for eastern/southern locations through the evening.  Total rainfall through Thursday evening will range from 0.50″ to 1″ for most.  It’s possible some locations in central Illinois end up on the lower end of rainfall, while areas southeast and northwest have the higher potential.
