Good Friday morning everyone!

Drier conditions are likely today, but we have a 10-20% chance of shower in far Southern North Dakota, Eastern South Dakota and Southwest Minnesota.

The bigger story will be gusty winds and dry air which will produce an enhanced fire danger risk today. Red Flag Warnings have been issued for much of North Dakota and Minnesota today.

Better risks for shower and storm development will occur Saturday afternoon and into Saturday evening with 50-60% storm/shower coverage possible. Here’s a look at the simulated radar for tomorrow afternoon:

Here’s a look at total precipitation from the hi-resolution NAM by 7AM Sunday. Pockets of some heavier showers are possible, but some miss out on rain risks altogether. Showers/storms will be hit or miss.

Another system likely begins to work into the area next week and produce more rainfall for much of the area. Overall, fairly light amounts, but something to keep in mind Monday into Wednesday.

Here’s a look at total precipitation from the ICON over the next 7 days (note much of the precipitation in SE Minnesota happened last night):
