5-4-18 Central Plains Forecast: Overall much quieter pattern into the weekend…..a few scattered showers this weekend, better chances mid next week. N.

Here is a look back at total rainfall received across the region over the past 3 days:

The video dives into the forecast details over the next week…..we’ll see lingering clouds and showers across the Missouri bootheel through Saturday, other-wise much of the region enjoys a gorgeous Friday with sunshine and very warm temperatures.  The story for the rest of the area will be a disturbance dropping in later Saturday through Sunday….widely scattered showers and a t’storm possible in northern areas Saturday afternoon, then dropping southeast into Missouri for Sunday.  This is not going to be a big deal at all with scattered pockets of a few hundredths of an inch…perhaps a couple localized pockets that can get up to a quarter inch mainly in Iowa where storms form.  Again, this is nothing close to what we’ve seen over the past few days….and many areas see little to nothing.

I’m watching Tuesday through Wednesday for a slow-moving disturbance to bring scattered shower/storm chances to the area, and another disturbance showing up next Friday into Saturday.
