5-30-19 Trenton Thunder: Analyzing strong storm risks this afternoon/evening. B.

Today’s Video:

Good Thursday morning everyone.

Today’s Weather Overview:

  • 11 – 2 PM: Should be dry here to start the day. Storms will begin to approach from the west.
  • 2 – 4 PM: Scattered storms could begin to develop ahead of the main cluster. For a brief time in this period there could be rotating storms.
  • 4 – 6 PM: Main cluster of storms begins to push through the area. Frequent lightning, heavy rainfall, damaging wind gusts are all possible with isolated hail/spin-up.
  • 6-8 PM: We could see a break in the action with some scattered activity possible.
  • 8-Midnight: We need to watch for the potential of some additional development of a swath of rain/storms. Severe threat looks lower with this. Confidence is low in this potential but given the low-level jet, additional rain is certainly possible.

Here’s a look at today’s 4 day outlook:

We could see a few isolated discrete cells before the main line works through. Here’s a look at the simulated radar today through 8PM:

We need to watch for re-development of showers and storms after 8PM:

Precipitation potential:

Overall, Friday and Saturday should be drier with just a very isolated chance early AM Friday and late Saturday. Sunday will bring back a better chance of scattered showers and storms in the afternoon:
