5-30-19 NCAA Rowing: Detailed analysis of storm chances this afternoon/evening. Look into weather to close out the championship. B.

Today’s Video:

Good Thursday morning everyone! We hope the first day of practice on the course yesterday went well.

Today’s Weather Overview:

  • From 9:30AM to 11:30AM we’ll continue to see hit or miss light rain showers or mist/drizzle risks.
  • From Noon to 3 PM we should remain dry with light shower activity moving east.
  • From 3-5 PM we should begin to see storms pop up across Northern and Central Indiana. Initially best coverage of storms looks to develop just north of Indianapolis closer to Lafayette/Kokomo.
  • From 5-8PM we’ll see a better shot of scattered storm coverage across Central Indiana. These likely will be slow movers with locally heavy rain, lightning and a few stronger storms with hail or gusty winds the main risks.

Overall, the system we discussed yesterday has trended much weaker and we should remain much drier to start off the day with some scattered light rain or mist/drizzle through the morning hours with storm chances this afternoon. Here’s a look at the simulated radar for today:

We’ll have to watch for the potential of a few lingering storms into mid-morning tomorrow before the rest of the day should clear out. Simulated radar from 3AM through Noon tomorrow:

Potential precipitation form storms this afternoon/evening and into tomorrow morning:

We continue to watch Saturday for the potential of scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon with a better risk of a strong cluster of storms which could produce hail and strong winds gusts in the late evening hours:
