Total precipitation guidance through the weekend is below…favoring I-70 and points south for the bulk of the rainfall yet ahead of ~0.5-1.5″, localized higher in spots across the southern third of the state:
Into mid-next week we set-up another pattern that will be favorable for frequent, even heavy precipitation risks with that trough (lower pressure) west running into a ridge (higher pressure) east, which sets up a healthy corridor for widespread precipitation in the Ohio Valley and Midwest:
Latest 5-10 day precipitation anomaly below illustrates the potential to see more on the widespread heavy rainfall risks into the 2nd week of May…the exact details will change, but into mid-next right now the pattern certainly is favorable for dry weather:
