5-3-18 Iowa Forecast: Severe storm threat later today…dry/calmer Friday & Saturday! N.

Video (5:47):

Forecast radar from 1pm today to 7am Friday:

Enhanced severe storm risk across southern Iowa today.  Best chances arrive during the evening hours.  All modes of severe weather are possible.  Main time-frame from 4pm to midnight.

Total rainfall through 7am Friday: I expect rain totals to be more uniform across the northern half of the state, with much more hit/miss nature across southern and southeast areas due to thunderstorms.

We clear out the rain late tonight, with a sunny and warm Friday shaping up!  We carry this weather through Saturday before another disturbance brings a few showers Saturday night into Sunday.
