5-28-19 Round Rock Express: Storm chances increase mid-late week. B.

Good Tuesday morning everyone! We hope you had a great Memorial Day! Below is your latest 7-day Outlook:

Overall, we remain dry for a good part of today and tomorrow with only isolated storm chances in the afternoon hours. The only issue today will be the Heat Index which likely once again rises into the mid-upper 90s:

However, a front will dive southward as we work into Wednesday night and leads to a better shot of rain and storms overnight. There will likely be a few scattered storms tomorrow afternoon ahead of this front. Here’s a look at the simulated radar from Noon Wednesday to 8AM Thursday morning:

We need to watch these storms carefully for the potential of a few strong storms. The line that moves through will likely cause severe weather to our north and though it likely weakens in it’s approach to Austin, we believe that there could still be a few strong to severe storms with strong winds gusts and hail the main threat. Here’s a look at the SPC severe weather outlook for tomorrow. Round Rock remains just south of the slight risk of severe weather at this time:

A disturbance will make it’s way across Texas Thursday night and into Friday leading to another round of rain and storms in the area. The bulk of this likely occurs in the morning hours but some lingering activity into the early afternoon cannot be 100% ruled out at this time. We will also see the risk for additional development of some storms on Thursday afternoon with the potential for a lingering boundary across the region:

As we work into the weekend, we’ll see the ridge of high pressure expand again lending to drier and hotter conditions with a return to the 90s likely. An isolated shot of storms on Thursday will turn into drier conditions to the start of next week. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out! Have a blessed day.
