A few storms today, although “pop-up” in nature, may become strong to severe especially further west; this does not mean if you aren’t in a marginal or slight risk it will not storm as we discuss in the video and in the future radar loop below:

Latest simulated radar is below through today…the best way to describe these storms today are “summer-like” where the pop-up during the heat of the day and gradually weaken overnight.  Given the lack of upper-level flow, where these guys pop they likely won’t move much (base of 0.25-0.75″), so some locally heavy rainfall can’t be ruled out ~0.75-1.25″, although we don’t anticipate to be widespread. We are watching closely a possible storm cluster across west-central to central Kansas tonight even far eastern Nebraska as well near sunset and slightly after:
