5-22-19 Ohio: Targeting multiple shots at iso strong storms in the short-term…big warm trend ahead + unsettled forecast late weekend. K.

Today’s video:

Total precipitation over the next 2 days is below…we think many areas along and south of the I-70 corridor pose a risk for ~0.5-1.0″ (localized higher ~1-2″+ is on the table with the storm cluster threat Thursday morning/afternoon and strong storm risks today and tomorrow):

We are under a marginal risk for strong to severe storms today, which I agree with…a few storms may be strong enough to produce some strong winds, hail and heavy rainfall in a scattered fashion today mainly from Cincy to Columbus and points east:

We will pose another risk on Thursday for strong to severe storms (wind and hail)…but we also think we can see some localized flash flooding given a stalled boundary hanging around the area left over the I-70 corridor. Based on latest guidance this is our best idea on where the threat would be the highest for where we develop a few strong storms that can also bring some flash flooding from west to east:

Total precipitation guidance heading into Friday and through the weekend below…we do believe most of us throughout the state pose a risk to see a total of ~0.5-1.5″…wouldn’t shock me to see more than a few locations achieve over 1.5″ that are under multiple storm clusters and with Sunday’s wet day widespread ahead as well:
