Flash flooding risks are high for areas from Joplin to Springfield through this morning and early afternoon, please consider if traveling through these areas today where it will not be hard to get localized 2.0-4.0″, localized even higher can’t be ruled out:
An excessive rainfall risk has been hoisted east and north of the Kansas City metro area for Friday into Saturday morning for additional flooding risks, and we can’t disagree:
Remaining precipitation from Friday through Sunday is below…similar to the graphic shown above, areas from ~Butler to Kansas City to Columbia and points north and west especially pose a risk that will not be hard to receive 2.o-4.0″, and in some spots northwest pose a risk to top 4.0″:
