5-22-19 Missouri: Strong storm potential continues today…discussing additional heavy rainfall potential ahead as well. K.

Today’s video:

Strong storm risk impact area is below…as mentioned in the video, we believe this risk needs shifted more to include the St. Louis metro area as well for tonight. Damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, large hail and flash flooding are all risks today:

Total additional rainfall guidance over the next 2-3 days is below…especially between the I-70 and I-44 corridor will pose the risk of an additional 1.0-2.0″, localized 3.0″ in spots as well given the flash flooding threat with this boundary today into tonight:

Rainfall potential as we get into Friday and early next week is below, almost all completely focused north of the I-44 corridor with additional heavy rainfall potential north of the expanding southern ridge of high pressure. As also mentioned in the video, we think areas especially north and west pose a risk for 1.0-3.0″, localized higher, unfortunately, can’t be ruled out:

Wind forecast guidance over the next 4 days is below:

Maryville:

Columbia:

Joplin:

St. Louis:
