5-22-19 Indiana: Summer-like warmth returns with locally heavy storms through late week…details here. N.

Total rainfall today:

Late tonight through Thursday brings the risk for local areas of heavy rain and flash flooding.  There look to be 2 time-frames of concern.  The first will be late tonight through mid-morning Thursday across Central Indiana for areas of heavy rain and isolated strong storms.  A break will occur followed by additional storms sparking during the afternoon and early evening.  The second round may target a bit further south for especially Indy and points south.  Not everyone in the highlighted area gets heavy storms, but where the storms do develop they can be torrential.  Tomorrow is not a washout of a day, but be aware of these threats.

We may see another batch of storms target northwest areas of the state late Thursday night into Friday morning.  For most of us, Friday is the best day of the week with only an isolated risk.  *Most areas stay completely dry Friday.*. The weekend brings an increasing storm risk again, with an emphasis on Sunday.  Watch the video for more.  Here is the total rain from tomorrow afternoon through Tuesday, capturing our weekend storms.
