The big story is the widespread, impressive rainfall that many received over the past 3 days (shown below).
The region will settle into a drier pattern today (finally) with a few lingering showers in eastern Nebraska, and scattered storms in southeast Missouri towards the bootheel. Although the weather remains “unsettled” in a sense that there will be daily storm threats, the activity overall will be more of the spotty/daily pop-up storms vs. the widespread clusters of storms that the area saw over the past week. I will say those of you in northern Nebraska and especially north Iowa will need to watch early Wednesday for a possible round of storms along a warm front lifting through. These areas certainly don’t need any more rain.
