Heavy rain threat through mid-morning across the state with several areas getting an additional 1-2″.
A few additional storms develop overnight especially after midnight into the morning hours Saturday producing potential for hail and isolated damaging wind. After a lull mid-morning Saturday into early afternoon, activity really gets going mid-afternoon and beyond from south to north, with the heaviest storms expected in the eastern half of the state Saturday evening. Strong shear will support the threat of strong, local damaging wind and pockets of large hail. Here is the rainfall potential today through Sunday:
Sunday will also be sharply cooler, with cool and dry conditions Sunday night and most of Monday. Monday night through Tuesday night, a very powerful storm system will lift its way in from the western Plains. Strong wind gusts over 40mph, heavy rains, and severe storms all look likely next Tuesday.
Rainfall of 3.5″ to 5.5″ rather widespread next 10 days, with some areas getting 5-8″.
