The next 2 days feature very warm air with widespread mid-80s+ and dry weather…however, getting into Saturday and Sunday our chances increase largely for strong to storms and heavy rainfall; below is the updated strong storm risks…favoring areas north of St. Louis to Columbia to Joplin and points north for strong storms and heavy rainfall on Saturday:

Total precipitation guidance over the next week is below…we mentioned in the video that we are targeting another very similar wave to move through the state around next Tuesday into early Wednesday that pose pretty much the same weather risks as this coming weekend. We highlighted an area below where we feel our confidence is the highest for 2.0-4.0″ total rainfall in this timeframe…areas further southeast the model totals are less certain due to running into a drier airmass:
