5-15-19 Kansas/Nebraska: Timing out our rain/storm threats over the next week. N.

This wave in northeast Kansas will continue to bring local downpours this morning, exiting this afternoon.  Mainly quiet this afternoon and tonight.  Much of the day-time tomorrow is fine as well.  Tomorrow late afternoon and night it’s a risk north of I-80 in Nebraska for scattered storms.  Kansas and southern Nebraska will remain dry until Friday evening.  Forecast radar 4pm Thursday to 7am Friday:

Severe storm threat northern Nebraska Thursday evening, then widespread risk Friday night (highest risk in central Nebraska), then eastern Kansas and southeast Nebraska Saturday.

Total rainfall through the weekend:  Heaviest focus east.

  A potent storm with widespread precipitation will work in Monday-Tuesday.  This plus additional rounds later next week put 9 day rain totals of 2-5″ for eastern Kansas and central/eastern Nebraska.
