Good Wednesday morning everyone! Overall, today looks like a very nice day with increased chances of storms overnight tomorrow and into the weekend. Here’s a look at our latest 6 day outlook:
Overall, most of tomorrow will likely be okay, but a few isolated storms tomorrow afternoon and evening cannot be ruled out given a very high amount of instability in the afternoon. The better chance will come with a cluster of storms overnight Thursday following your game that could produce a few strong wind gusts and heavy rain. Heat indices will also be high tomorrow afternoon with temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90F and dew points in the low 70s. As we work into Friday, the primary storm risk will be just to the north of Des Moines but a few storms cannot be ruled out:
Rain chances will increase as we work into weekend as the storm system begins to progress east leading to rain and storms likely around game time on Saturday. However, it looks like the main activity gets out before the game on Sunday – but we will keep a close eye on timing:
