5-14-19 Missouri: Targeting isolated strong storms today…warmer/drier short-term forecast + increased rainfall potential into next weekend. K.

Today’s video:

We do have a risk for isolated strong / heavy storms today including pockets of hail this afternoon into the evening, further southeast overnight into early Friday morning…make sure to check out the risks laid out in the video above. Total precipitation guidance in the short-term is below as well, we mentioned this model could be a touch overdone with the expansiveness across the west-central parts of the state for the 0.5-1.5″, but overall where we see shower and storm activity pop up today to tonight, generally a 0.5-1.5″ is possible:

We do think areas north and west pose a risk for a low-level inversion and patchy / dense fog Wednesday morning…something to consider if thinking about doing any spraying; this should burn off by late morning:

We see very warm and dry conditions set up shop especially to end the work week…however, getting into Saturday and Sunday our risks increase for more widespread rainfall potential across the state. Here’s our favored guidance regarding rainfall below for the weekend…these totals will fluctuate as the models try to pinpoint closer where the exact boundary of moisture sets up as we get closer so stay tuned:
