After 0.20″ to 0.50″ rainfall over the weekend, we’ll dry things out today with partly cloudy skies. There could be an isolated sprinkle this afternoon. Highs in the lower 60s.
Dry Tuesday with a mix of sun and clouds, highs of 66-71º. Tuesday evening into Wednesday, a few showers are possible, with an emphasis across southwest Illinois. Plenty of dry time is the main take-away each day this week. That said, as we head into Thursday into the weekend a northwest flow aloft and a frontal boundary separating a warm/humid air mass from a cooler/drier air mass northeast will act as the train tracks for a few disturbances in the Thursday evening-Saturday time-frame. This could actually allow for a thunderstorm cluster to impact possibly the far northern and northeast areas depending upon where this front sets-up. It’s possible the front can remain just far enough north that we remain dry. Signs that this boundary could linger into Saturday, so we’ll keep an eye on this late week set-up. Regardless, temperatures are going to take off with temperatures running above average next weekend and for much of next week.
Precipitation next 6 days: Again, the risk especially northeast is for higher amounts if and where these thunderstorm risks can set up.
