Rain showers are on the radar once again this morning. The southern band of rain will push off to the east throughout the day today and into Southern Minnesota, while dry air in NE North Dakota and Northern Minnesota will eat away at the northern extent.

More energy will work in late today and into tomorrow morning. West to east flow aloft and high water content in the atmosphere will lead to heavy rain risks for portions of Southern Minnesota. Here’s a look at the simulated radar and where to expect widespread heavy rain (pink) and pockets of heavy rain (blue) tonight.
Here’s a look at a rainfall totals through tomorrow evening. Hi-res data is fairly consistent on where the axis of heaviest rains will occur.
This will be a cool rain too. Temperatures will linger in the 40s for many areas today and tomorrow. We also have freeze risks in NE North Dakota and Northern Minnesota tomorrow as clear skies, dry soil and dry air allow temperatures to plummet.
