5-1-19 Round Rock Express: Possible storm chances headed into the weekend. MG.

Good Wednesday afternoon!

Here’s a look at our latest 7 day outlook:

We begin a very active pattern for Round Rock tonight with several discrepancies in the model data.  Models differ in the position and evolution of this storm system into tonight and tomorrow.  In general, any storm that does impact the area has the potential to be severe in nature with wind, hail, and flash flooding being the main threats.  We think that there is a chance that storms currently developing to your north may organize and drift southward into the Round Rock in the late hours tonight/ early hours on Thursday.  Your chances increase Thursday and more so on Friday but will have to fine tune when newer data comes in.  The Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk for severe weather in the Round Rock Area for today and tomorrow as well.

Day 1 Outlook:

Day 2 Outlook:

Here is a look at simulated radar through tomorrow morning.  Note that there are many model discrepancies regarding this system for the Round Rock area.

Here is estimated total precipitation through Friday morning.  There are large differences in the models regarding precipitation accumulation for Round Rock.  Note the higher totals just north and west of the area.  The Round Rock area could receive higher (or lesser) amounts of precipitation depending on exact storm location.
