4-5-19 New Orleans Baby Cakes Forecast: Showers/storm potential persists. Window of opportunity for game time. B.

Today’s Video:

Good Friday morning everyone! We have scattered showers and storms lingering throughout the area this morning as a boundary has settled in over the area. This boundary remains rather stationary throughout the day today, but does begin to lift north in the late afternoon and evening hours. As this boundary lifts north, the shower and storm activity should shift north of the area. We expect this to occur shortly before tonight’s game so we’d expect the coverage of showers/storms to decrease for the New Orleans area by ~6PM with only isolated shower activity during the game. Here’s a look at the simulated radar from now to midnight:

We continue to carefully watch Sunday as there is the potential for heavy rain and strong storms shortly after the game begins. We cannot rule out the risk for some severe weather with these storms as well so we will be keeping a very close eye on data the next 24-48 hours. Rain/storms likely continue overnight and don’t exit until Monday morning:

Total Precipitation the next 5 days:

Here is the latest 7 day outlook. Once we get through the next 3 days and Monday morning, next week looks to shape up very nicely.
