Simulated radar guidance Thursday pre-dawn through Friday mid-day is below using our forecast model of choice. A round of heavy rainfall and possible strong storms (gusty winds and localized hail mainly) will work through the area from around 6am-noon local time…right now the better risk for this threat looks to stay 2-4 counties north but we recommend keeping close eyes on this wave mainly for heavy rainfall risks if it does happen to dive south. Throughout the afternoon from around 3-6pm is the main timeframe for New Orleans to get a round of showers and thunderstorms…and after that approaching game time the energy looks best placed to the north for tomorrow night’s game. For Friday we also touch on, the best energy looks to focused a few counties north like tomorrow night…at this time we are siding with a drier solution for the game:
Total precipitation guidance through Friday is below…you’ll see the better focus of 1-2″+ of rainfall will be focused 2-4 counties north of the Ballpark, favoring more in reality of ~0.5-1.0″. If we do manage to work in a heavier thunderstorm Thursday it’s not impossible to pick up 1.0″+, but given how most of the activity looks to stay north we will go with our range mentioned above at this time:
