4-26-18 Central Plains Forecast: Great stretch of weather into the weekend…storm chances next week. N.

Video (5:40):

Latest severe weather probabilities based on analog data shows multiple days next week offering up the risk for strong to severe storms in portions of the area.  Think the highest chances come Tuesday/Wednesday of next week.

Here is a look at data regarding rainfall totals through the end of next week.  I circled the area where heavier rains are most likely.  The amount of rain will be highly dependent upon speed of the front.  There will be plenty of moisture in place to allow for heavy storms, but we don’t think the front stalls out.  I would watch Missouri for the heaviest potential.  I also think the southwest Plains end up drier.

High temperatures over the next 4 days:

Low temperatures over the next 4 days: Cold enough for patchy frost across north-central Iowa and northeast Nebraska Saturday morning, then across northeast Iowa Sunday morning where a light freeze is possible.  Lows will be significantly warmer by early next week.

Wind forecast over the next 4 days: Watch for very gusty winds in the western Plains this afternoon.  Winds remain light across south/eastern areas.
